Different processing methods, as they apply to Aloe Mucilaginous Polysaccharides (AMP), are important for 2 reasons; cost & quality.  Knowing what or which method was used prior to purchasing AMP will help you to better understand whether or not the product’s price & quality is in-line with its manufacturing process.

Generally speaking, freeze drying works by freezing material and then reducing the surrounding pressure and adding enough heat to allow the frozen water in the material to sublime directly from the solid phase to gas.

As applied to aloe Vera, freeze drying causes far less damage to Aloe Mucilaginous Polysaccharides than any other method using higher temperatures. Freeze drying does not cause shrinkage or toughening of the AMP while it is being processed. In addition, much of the chemical makeup of AMP is left unchanged.

Freeze-dried AMP reconstitutes (re-hydrates) much more quickly because the process leaves microscopic pores. The pores are created by the crystals that sublimate, leaving gaps or pores in its place. This is especially important when it comes to the absorption of AMP by your body. Freeze drying also increases the shelf life of AMP.
