Benefits of L-Glutamine and Soy Lecithin
-
L-Glutamine (read our latest article: What's all the hype about?)
-
L-glutamine is the most prevalent amino acid in the bloodstream. It is used in the gut and immune system extensively to maintain optimal performance. 60% of free-form amino acids floating in skeletal muscles is L-glutamine. L-glutamine plays a very important role in protein metabolism, and it appears to be a very important nutrient for SEROVERA® users. When supplemented, it may help you reduce the amount of muscle deterioration that occurs because other tissues that need glutamine will not rob the glutamine stored in the muscle cells.
-
Benefits of L-Glutamine:
-
-
Prevent Catabolization : Glutamine has been linked to protein synthesis. It prevents your muscle from being catabolized (eaten up) in order to provide Glutamine for other cells in the body.
-
Stay Hydrated : Glutamine helps maintain cell volume and hydration, speeding up wound healing and recovery.
-
Stay Charged: Glutamine helps replenish declining glutamine levels during intense episodes of immune disorders or diseases.
-
Increase Growth Hormones: L-Glutamine has show to spike hormone levels. Research has shown 2 grams of L-Glutamine increased growth by over 400%

Use
Glutamine is a supplement that is used in weightlifting, bodybuilding, endurance and other sports, as well as by those who suffer from muscular cramps or pain—particularly elderly people. It has been shown to speed up the Krebs Cycle (the citric acid cycle), aiding in weight loss while retaining muscle. The main use of glutamine within the diet of either group is as a means of replenishing the body's stores of amino acids that have been used during exercise or everyday activities.
Studies which are looking into problems with excessive consumption of glutamine thus far have proved inconclusive. However, normal supplementation is healthy mainly because glutamine is supposed to be supplemented after prolonged periods of exercise (for example, a workout or exercise in which amino acids are required for use) and replenishes amino acid stores; this being the main reason glutamine is recommended during fasting or for people who suffer from physical trauma, immune deficiencies, or cancer.
Aiding Recovery After Surgery
It is also known that glutamine has various effects in reducing healing time after operations. Hospital waiting times after abdominal surgery are reduced by providing parenteral nutrition regimens containing amounts of glutamine to patients. Clinical trials have revealed that patients on supplementation regimes containing glutamine have improved nitrogen balances, generation of cysteinyl-leukotrienes from polymorphonuclear neutrophil granulocytes and improved lymphocyte recovery and intestinal permeability (in postoperative patients) - in comparison to those who had no glutamine within their dietary regime; all without any side-effects. 1. Soy Lecithin
-
Soy Lecithin is the popular name for a naturally occurring mixture of phosphatides (also called phospholipids), which varies in color from light tan to dark reddish brown and in consistency from a fluid to a plastic solid. Lecithin is the gummy material contained in crude vegetable oils and removed by degumming. Soybeans are by far the most important source of lecithin and lecithin is the most important by-product of the soy oil processing industry because of its many applications in foods and health products. Lecithin provides an excellent source of choline, which is essential to every living cell in the body and is one of the main components of the cell membranes.
-
Benefits of Soy Lecithin:
-
Brain Power: Scientific research has found that lecithin and choline may improve your memory, especially mild memory loss associated with getting older.
-
Helps the Heart: With heart disease being the number one killer of both men
and women, lecithin is another way nature helps us to keep our hearts healthy. -
Liver Health: Scientists have known for some time that lecithin and choline is essential to liver function and health
